About Us

clearwaterfins.com is an independent website about home aquariums: tanks and starter kits, filtration, lighting and live plants, heaters and water care, and keeping fish healthy.

Aquarium gear is easy to get wrong: the wrong filter, a tank that's too small, lights that grow algae. Our goal is to explain what matters for the fish you want to keep and the time you have, and to point out the trade-offs honestly.

Who writes our guides

Articles are published by the clearwaterfins.com Editorial Team. We don't invent experts or personas. Where we have personally tested a product, we say so clearly with a “Tested by us” label; everywhere else our recommendations are research-based.
